Marcie English
Prior to stepping into her role as a grant and programs associate with CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, Marceline spent seven years at the Florida Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, managing a private-public partnership with the state's Department of Health. With skills in program evaluation, impact measurement, and project management, she is enthusiastic about contributing to CareQuest Institute's mission of enhancing oral health outcomes for underserved communities. On a personal note, when she is not immersed in grantmaking, she loves exploring Florida's beaches and taking Auggie, her mini Aussie, everywhere. She is always open to discussing her latest reality show binge, whether it's chatting about Real Housewives or dissecting Love Is Blind.
Scott Darius
Scott is the Executive Director at Florida Voices for Health (FVH), where he leads a dynamic team in strategic planning and collaborates with statewide coalition partners on various campaigns and initiatives. Scott's journey into health advocacy began during law school with an internship at Florida CHAIN, a health advocacy organization. After CHAIN closed, he found a new home at FVH, where he could continue the critical work on Medicaid and health care issues. Scott's personal values align closely with FVH's mission, vision, and values. He believes that the process of achieving outcomes is as crucial as the outcomes themselves, and FVH strives to approach its work with humility and grace, even when facing disagreements. In his view, the biggest challenges in healthcare today include resistance to change, the influence of special interests, and a lack of honest dialogue about the sector's issues and opportunities. Outside of work, Scott credits his family, including his mom, dad, and three sisters, with greatly influencing his personal and professional growth. Additionally, he admires Clint Dempsey for his impact on his life.
