On May 29th, we are discussing how philanthropic partners might engage differently? How can we set the table for the urgency of now to build towards new ways of working in our systems? Three funders will help shift our dialogue – Malia Ramler Heising-Simons Foundation, Meghan McCormick Overdeck Family Foundation, and Renee Harvey Cleveland Browns Foundation. We have intentionally set up this time for attendees to engage and reflect together. We won’t come to a full set of actions but we will begin naming how philanthropy might disrupt or change some of the patterns keeping chronic absenteeism in place.
Chronic absenteeism has not one solution and a plethora of causes. Addressing chronic absenteeism requires “everything everywhere all at once.” We will focus on lagging data within the current school year, communicating with families, addressing student disengagement and invite you to bring your topics to the table that excite you. Don’t think of this as another webinar, rather, a way for you to bring your original ideas, questions, and concerns to a space where you will engage with other philanthropic partners who may be in the same space as you. Hopefully, we spark connections, relationships and ideas to pick up on after this call.
