Florida Specific Youth Survey (FSYS)
Beginning in 2023, the Florida Department of Education and School Districts in Florida will no longer administer the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) Youth Risk Behavior Survey. In lieu of the CDC survey, the Florida Department of Education (DOE) developed the Florida Specific Youth Survey (FSYS), which aligns to DOE education standards. This shift away from using the long-time CDC survey marked a notable departure from the standard CDC survey, long relied on by philanthropy and other key decision makers in the state to access the health of Florida high school students.
Join us for a discussion to learn more about the FSYS and what the decision to shift away from the CDC survey means to students, families and funders. We will also explore how we can use the FSYS moving forward and continue to support students in a data-informed manner.
