Based on feedback from both groups, we will learn about how philanthropy has led an initiative to address the mental health needs of post-secondary students and their families in a region of Florida. Mental health challenges have been exasperated due to the pandemic, but there are opportunities for philanthropy to have an impact across institutions of higher education. Learn about mental health support for post-secondary students from Wilma Norton, Vice President for Community Connections at the Community Foundation Tampa Bay and Dominique Gardner, Program Manager at LEAP Tampa Bay College Access Network.
During our meeting, we will also learn about the Sunshine Portal, Florida’s Early Childhood Integrated Data System from its leader, Dr. Herman Knopf of the Anita Zucker Center at the University of Florida. Dr. Knopf will also be seeking input from FPN members on additional metrics which the program should collect and monitor to meet the needs of philanthropy.
After the joint meeting, the EAG will continue with a discussion of its policy initiatives for 2023 with RSA Consulting.
