What is your involvement with Florida Philanthropic Network? What influenced you to join?

"In 2023, the Florida Prepaid College Foundation joined FPN for the purpose of being truly connected to the determinants driving this sector of Florida’s economy and future. "

Name one thing you find special about the Florida philanthropic community.

"This organization stands out with its distinctive mission to deeply understand and catalyze philanthropy, driving positive change across various sectors of society and among diverse constituents. "

Are there any partnerships or collaborations you have found most meaningful to you in the last year?

"Each of our partnerships with donors and organizations are meaningful and essential. Together, with our donors and partners, we are making difference in a student’s life through a college scholarship. I am most proud of the 58,000 scholarships the foundation has awarded to date. The gift of education leaves a lasting legacy for future generations."

What's the biggest challenge you've faced with your philanthropic efforts? How have you overcome them?

"Our biggest opportunity is to educate future partners about the Florida Prepaid College Foundation’s dollar-for-dollar college scholarship match, it doubles the impact on student education opportunities that the partner can make.  The forums provided through membership in FPN allow the Florida Prepaid College Foundation to learn, connect and communicate all we can do to build a better Florida together."

What fuels your cup – in life and at work?

"I am driven by the profound opportunity to uplift those less fortunate or to discover innovative strategies that enable us to reach more students and families. My mission is to turn the hope of post-secondary education into a reality for all."

Can you share one piece of advice you would give to someone considering a career in philanthropy?

"I believe that philanthropy is a lifelong career.  Philanthropy is a personal passion that I developed through the influence of amazing role models and by witnessing firsthand the impact it can have on an individual’s life when fully activated.  Coincidentally the tagline for the Florida Prepaid College Foundation is “Giving is Believing.”  It is through giving to others of our time – talent and resources that one can achieve a deeper relationship to all things true and meaningful in life.
