FPN’s Katie Ensign Appointed to Florida Advisory Committee on Economic Security
(Winter Park, FL - June 15, 2009) Florida Philanthropic Network
President Katie Ensign has been appointed to a state committee that
advises the Florida Department of Children and Families on its
provision of safety-net services to Florida citizens- services that
have become all the more critical in today's economic downturn.
As a member of the Department's Advisory Committee on Economic
Security, Ensign will help the Department ensure that it is being as
effective as possible in meeting the growing human service needs of
Florida's most vulnerable residents.
Among its many duties, the Committee provides advice and counsel to
the Department's leadership on the provision of services to
Floridians who rely on its safety net programs; provides direction
and suggestions for ensuring accurate and timely delivery of
benefits to eligible citizens; and identifies special needs and
services that should be provided by the Department to better
accomplish its mission of service to Florida's most vulnerable
citizens.
"I am honored by the opportunity to engage with
the Florida Department of Children and Families as it carries out
its critical role in ensuring economic security for all
Floridians," said Ensign. "And I look forward to working on
the Committee to identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships
at the state and community levels."
