Audience: This meeting is intended for community foundations' CEOs along with their staff or others who have communications responsibilities for the foundation.  The meeting is open to organizations that are members of Florida Philanthropic Network.

This gathering is a great opportunity for Florida community foundations to connect, share and learn from each other, in both formal and informal settings.  It is being held in conjunction with FPN's Statewide Summit on Philanthropy on February 11-12, 2010. 

The February 2010 CFF Meeting will cover several key issues for community foundations today, with a focus on community foundations' communications issues, practices, challenges and opportunities.  There will also be plenty of time for informal discussion and networking.

Florida Community Foundation Updates & Conversation

An opportunity for each participant to update the group on a recent activity or achievement of their foundation, pose questions to the group and engage in informal discussion and sharing.  Each foundation should be prepared to share, in no more than two minutes, up to three "what works" ideas from all areas of the foundation.  Bring hand-outs and examples to share.

Communications Staff Updates & Conversation
An opportunity for community foundations' communications staff to network and learn from each other on key aspects of their work.  At dinner, the group will report back on their discussions.

Community Leadership Conversation

A discussion on how community foundations are engaging in community leadership across Florida.  What are they doing?  What are they learning?  What are the challenges and successes?

Learn and discuss the different ways in which Florida community foundations are communicating about their community leadership.  How are they communicating the impact of their leadership?  How do you talk about it?  What does it look like?

"What Works" Panel Discussion & Group Conversation

Facilitator: Dan Whicker, Director of Marketing and Communications, Southwest Florida Community Foundation; Panelists: Marilyn Howard, Manatee Community Foundation; Ruth Lando, The Community Foundation of Sarasota County; Mary Kress Littlepage, Mark Walker and Nina Waters, The Community Foundation in Jacksonville
A panel of CEOs and communications staff from Florida community foundations will share best practices on a successful communications project.  After the panel discussion, each community foundation will share a specific example of a communications effort that had a positive impact, bringing examples and samples.
